Are you passionate about supporting children and young people with additional needs? We are currently recruiting dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to join a supportive and nurturing primary academy environment in Wakefield.

The Role

We are offering full-time, part-time, and supply positions, allowing you to choose a working pattern that suits your lifestyle.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
  • Assisting the class teacher with tailored lesson delivery
  • Promoting positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies
  • Helping pupils develop social, communication, and life skills
  • Creating a safe and inclusive learning environment

Requirements

  • Previous experience working with additional needs, either:
    • In an educational setting (school, college, nursery), or
    • In a support worker, care, or youth work role
  • A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting vulnerable learners
