Employability Coach - Fixed Term Contract - 10 months\n\nLocation: Sheffield\n\nSalary: £33,055\n\nReporting to the Community Investment Manager, the Employability Coach will be responsible for providing employment and training advice and guidance to customers, working with them to understand the barriers and challenges they face and their ambitions for the future. Helping them to identify the skills and tools they need to seek employment or training now or in the future.\n\nWhat you’ll be doing\n\nWorking with customers from across the Customer Services Directorate, including Independence and Wellbeing and Neighbourhoods\n\nConducting 1:1 sessions coaching sessions, in schemes, homes and virtually.\n\nRunning drop in sessions within I&W schemes and community centres\n\nDelivering employability / pre employment workshops/ courses\n\nSignposting to other agencies through appropriate referral routes\n\nEmpowering front line colleagues to provide ‘in the moment support’ and generate more referrals to our team\n\nSupporting the delivery of funded programmes when required and relevant\n\nAligning service delivery with the aims and objectives of the Community Investment and Sustainable Neighbourhoods strategies, as well as the principles stated within the Community Investment model.\n\nWhat you’ll need\n\nRelevant professional qualifications / memberships (Institute of Customer Service Qualification, IAG level 3 or 4 qualification) or relevant working experience.\n\nOrganisation and ability to time-manage workload\n\nAble to deliver a high standard of customer service\n\nExperience of working in an employment and skills related field and / or Welfare to Work sector is essential for this role\n\nExperience of delivering 1:1 support to customers around employment and training\n\nExperience of using coaching techniques to help customers identify actions and solutions for themselves, promoting and maximising independence\n\nAbility to engage and build relationships with potential or trusted partner agencies or organisations, developing appropriate contacts and future networking opportunities\n\nExperience of providing training and peer to peer support to effectively share specialist knowledge and learning\n\nExperience of detailed administration and recording procedures, maintaining confidentiality in line with data protection and safeguarding regulations\n\nGreat Places Housing Group is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults and expects all our colleagues to share this commitment; this role is subject to a basic DBS check\n\nWhat we need from you\n\nYou will be required to attend a number of face to face training sessions as well as virtual sessions and e-learning this part of your role is vital and of equal importance as the day to day aspects.\n\nExcellent communication and customer service skills\n\nKnowledge of providing employability support or similar\n\nKnowledge or experience in coaching practices\n\nGood networker, with the ability to build relationships with relevant partners and stakeholders.\n\nGood IT skills\n\nTo ensure the responsibilities of the post are carried out in a way that reflects the standards, vision and values of Great Places;\n\nTo deliver value for money and manage resources effectively and efficiently, ensuring that targets (financial and non-financial) are met;\n\nTo promote Great Places to employers, sector bodies, and the local community, developing effective partnerships with employers, the funding agencies and other representative bodies;\n\nTo observe all policies / procedures / working practices / regulations and in particular to comply with Great Places Equality and Diversity Policy, Health and Safety Policy and Safeguarding Policy\n\nTo undertake appropriate training and staff development.\n\nTo identify and develop individual contribution in the delivery of the Great Places competency framework\n\nWhat we give you in return for your hard work and commitment\n\nPension ¦DC Scheme (up to 10% contribution from both colleague and Great Places)\n\nWPA ¦Healthcare auto enrolled at no contribution level with £1250 of savings available- option to increase & add on family members\n\nThe Market Place ¦high street, restaurant & supermarket discounts, gym memberships, cycle to work, smart tech loans and much more\n\nAnnual Leave ¦Start at 26 days annual leave, increasing up to 30 days + Bank Holidays\n\nLottery ¦ Monthly draw with 1st @ £250, 2nd @ £75 and 3rd @ £50\n\nSavings Club ¦ You can put aside money each month for 11 months to help you save for that special something (pays out in Novembers salary)\n\nSharing Greatness ¦ Our colleague incentive scheme where colleagues can earn £300 by helping the business achieve business targets.\n\nHelp with transport ¦ We offer season ticket loans, an affordable way to purchase season tickets for public transport at discounted rates .\n\nAt Great Places we believe the wellbeing of our colleagues is vital to enable them to deliver to great services, all your benefits can be used inside and outside of work.\n\nClosing date: 16th June 2026\n\nShortlist date: 17th June 2026\n\nInterview date: TBC
