£18,510 - £21,960 dependant on experience (Base salary £17,310 - £20,760 dependant on experience and OTE of £1200)

Damage Management Claims Handler
£17,946 - £21,428 dependant on experience

What being a Customer Service Advisor involves

Whether working in Service, Sales or Claims, our Customer Advisors are responsible for creating the positive experiences that have made Direct Line Group the UK’s leading home and motor insurer. Bright, friendly and dependable, our brilliant teams are focused on doing the best by our customers. They’re the ones with the first-class communication skills we need to be a first point of contact on each call. And they do it professionally and efficiently, every time.

If you’re a flexible and confident communicator, you could find a role where your personality and passion allows you to make a real difference to the customer experience. As the voice of our business, you’ll have the opportunity to represent some of the nation’s best-loved brands. With so many insurers being supported by our call centres, you’ll be interacting with a wide variety of different people – which means no two days will ever be the same.

You could find yourself selling the benefits of travel, pet or motor insurance. Or perhaps you’ll be expertly managing a query, issue, complaint or claim. Whatever your role, you know that when a call comes through, it could be anyone from any walk of life – so you’ll have to adapt your approach accordingly. You’ll follow scripts in certain areas, but as you get to know our customers, your extensive training and natural enthusiasm will allow you to take ownership of your role by doing what you do best – connecting with people and understanding their needs.

Skills and qualities you need

There’s no single type of person that works here. We welcome confident, sociable individuals who bring their whole selves to work. That includes all the life experience, personality and talent that makes them different. Because it’s these things that help us to truly understand our customers.

As we offer training, experience in previous sales, customer service or claims roles is desirable, but not essential. But a few other things we look for are:

o The ability to communicate persuasively
o Sharp thinking and an eye for detail
o Helpfulness and a customer-first attitude
o Drive and enthusiasm for meeting targets and deadlines
o PC literacy


37.5 hour working week (working hours discussed at interview dependant on role)
Shifts between Monday - Friday 08:00 – 21:15, Saturday 09:00 – 17:00 and Sunday 10:00 – 17:00
City centre location.
